The world has never been disappointed by the innovation from the Chinese innovators. Every now and then, there is some sort of innovation and research that lands upon the viewers and tech enthusiasts all over the world. A majority of the part of the worlds electronics and electrical parts are manufactured and sold from China. There even exists a saying that there isn’t anything produced elsewhere in the world that the Chinese cannot replicate. Speaking of the world’s first AI News Anchor, it is developed and unveiled in China. The Chinese are very keen to display their newest technology to the world.
China’s state news agency Xinhua introduced the newest member to the addition to the newsreader panel. The first news that it read was regarding the personal information about who he was and how he intended to change the news viewing and reading experience.
Details on the World’s First AI News Anchor
Debuted on the last Thursday, at the occasion of the World Internet Conference in the country’s eastern Zhejiang Province, the AI anchor is claimed to be the first move towards the involvement of the technology in the newsreader as well. The AI News Anchor is modeled on the agency’s Zhang Zhao presenter. The new anchor learns from the live videos and is capable of working 24/7, 365 days of the year tirelessly.
The anchor wears a red tie and pin-striped suit to the presentation. The AI anchor performs some humanly move as well like nodding the head in emphasizing some important parts, it blinks its eyes frequently and raises its eyebrows slightly in the emphasis. You would not have known if it wasn’t for the news to have broadcasted its identity.
The AI Anchor is developed by Xinhua and the Chinese search engine, Sogou. The anchors were developed through machine learning to simulate the voice, facial expression and real-life like gestures.
It greets the Chinese media and introduces itself saying, “The development of the media industry calls for continuous innovation and deep integration with the international advanced technologies.” It holds true in many scenarios, we still are held by the human news readers while other forms of media have always adopted the latest technology.
According to Xinhua, AI technology isn’t just limited to news reading, but it can also be customized and modeled according to the needs of other different clients in other industries as well. The implementation of AI reader in the news sector is the casting of the possibilities of the AI in many other sectors and plants a strong base in how it can be a boost on the countries development and economy.
If your concerns are about the growing AI industry and loss of job and unintended discrimination, research firm Gartner predicts that the industry will, in fact, create 2.3million jobs and eliminate 1.8 million by 2020. The industry is expected to generate more than $3.9 trillion within the timeframe of the next five to six years.
While the virtual anchor is the newest and the first of its kind, the use of AI hasn’t been the first time in the Chinese media. In 2015, China’s Dragon TV used Microsoft’s chatbot, Xiaolce, to deliver a weather report on its live breakfast show. The AI was very cute female voiced and delivered the report effortlessly according to the Xinhua.
Automated reporting has uplifted its standing in the world of media in recent past years. The Associated Press wire service is a major news organization that makes the news reading possible using many sophisticated computer algorithms to write the huge number of automated stories every year. Advanced software can scrape through the complex data and reports and make it into sentences that are pleasing and understandable to the humans.
AI is a vast field and has not yet been visited nicely. If we can make ourselves capable of making most out of the technology, the automation in the technology could lead to more discovery that the humans could have been limited at. The world’s first AI news anchor is a step towards the automation standards that the Chinese media has taken and soon the technology could be widespread in many other industries as well.
The HP 2018 has updated the x360 with the time and the competition by making it one of the faster premium notebooks on the market. HP’s Spectre x360 has been giving a neck and neck competition with the Microsoft Surface Book and has been at the top of the heap for a while. Its performance is controlled by Kaby Lake G Series technology with an 8th Gen Core i7 CPU with AMD Radeon RX Vega M graphics. It also has a gorgeous 4K screen and a comfy keyboard.
Below are the New HP Spectre x360 Top Features:
The new HP Spectre x360 is quite similar to the recent design of the Spectre x360. It has the same machined aluminum chassis with 360-degree convertible hinge to allow to use a laptop as a slate tablet and plus, features the sophisticated black-and-copper color scheme. The laptop weighs about 4.6 pounds and measures 0.8 inches making it heavy and thick like the 15-inch Lenovo Yoga 720 which weighs 4.6 pounds and measure 0.8 inches.
The Spectre x360 also offers dual Thunderbolt 3 ports on its right side used for extending the display and connecting to high-speed devices. Beside them is the HDMI port and fingerprint reader. The left side of the laptop features a USB 3.0 port, for people who haven’t migrated over to the reversible USB Type-C future yet and also headphone jack and an SD memory card reader.
Also, the New HP Spectre x360 has Gem Cut Design, enabled Gigabit-Class 4G LTE advanced fingerprint reader, secutity from Hacking with Privacy Camera Kill Switch.
The HP Spectre x360’s has a 15.6-inch with a 3840 x 2160 pixel screen resolution giving a bright and vivid images. Also, the 13 inch model is coming soon in the market. The screen is sharp and crisp and a little over saturated in color making the movie details and colors pop out.
Moreover, The HP Spectre x360 comes with a pleasant surprise as it offers a 2.0 megapixel camera with more details that is much needed for a Skype call.
The keyboard and touchpad of the Spectre x360 are well designed for comfortable, speedy typing and works without any complaints. The keyboard has a full size number pad which is a new feature added.
The 4.7 x 2.3-inch touchpad on the Spectre x360 easily tracks the input navigated and also registers the Windows 10’s three-finger swipe in a very high speed.
The HP Pen, included with this model, is an impressive active stylus but still, many prefer the HP Tilt pen as it feel more natural. It is designed to work with the Windows Ink Ecosystem. The LCD screen may bounce a bit when trying to directly on the open screen in laptop with the pen, so the tablet mode is much preferred when working with the significant pen.
There were many complaints regarding the battery life of the previous designs. For the new HP Spectre x360, HP has dramatically boosted its battery life from a little over five hours to over eight hours which may be because of the dimmer screen of the laptop in comparison to the last year’s model, as well as the lower-end specs.
HP Spectre x360 configured with a Kaby Lake G series has an Intel Core i7-8705G processor with 16GB of RAM, which gave the laptop enough horsepower for speedy multitasking. There is no buffering or disturbance in the YouTube videos even after the screen is divided.
Also, the 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD in the Spectre x360 can duplicate the 4.97GB of multimedia files in 18 seconds, at a rate of 282.7MBps.
Ignoring the short battery life, the Spectre x360 can be considered a mix of style with elegant design, comfortable keyboard and a speedy CPU. All the specs present in the laptop makes it looks nice as it is to use.
Anki is a company who is known to be master of techy Christmas toys whose products always seem to impress people. This blog post is all about the Anki Vector: The Good Robot, Home Robot by the Anki.
The Anki’s robot companion Cozmo, a little robot with a big personality hit the top of the toy charts with its charm. When priced at £200, it appeared to be a high asking price, but it was in fact mazon’s best-selling toy of the year.
However, Cozmo was really just a desk toy, with which most people just played games and cooed when it made a noise unknown about the fact that it is able to do a number of things.
Anki Vector is just the follow-up, literal bigger brother of Cozmo which is much smarter and talks to you in English, rather than simply blurting cute squeaks and bleeps.
This device main aim is for it to be used by the whole family or be a part of a family, but it for sure will be a device that will be liked and used by kids, but the aim is for it to be used by the whole family.
Vector has been made available from 12 October, for £249. Pre-order for an Anki Vector for is estimated at £199 ahead of the Christmas rush.
Design and Features in Anki Vector
The Anki Vector has an aim to be part of the family by making Vector autonomous. The Vector is largely app free and hooks straight into your Wi-Fi connection whereas Cozmo was tethered .to an app
Connection to a Wi-Fi automatically means that it sure will be used by more people in the home with features that can do a lot more things.
The Anki Vectors has a board of Qualcomm Snapdragon, Quad Core 1.2GHz chip, offering up the same power as some smart phones and tablets. It, moreover, has the ability to shift the computational power that was mostly done through the app on to the robot itself by swapping out a tiny processor to something much bigger.
The extra features of Anki Vector got the ability to answers to questions you may have, set timers, tell you what the weather is, take pictures and generally mill to wake it and do something with it.
Looks wise there are big familiarities with Cosmo but it’s much chunkier and has a paint job that screams sophistication with all black and golds in comparison to Cozmo’s orange kid-like appearance. It also comes with a similar charging dock and same tread and arm on the front.
The Anki Vector is a far brainier device which is able to recognize faces and voice once asked to it and also can speak to a person in a very garbled but a cute robotic voice.
It can tell us the weather with animations to match and also set a timer and that countdown appeared on its small front-facing high-res color IPS display.
People can play Black Jack with it in its small screen which shows the cards and it let players win a couple of times. When roaming around the area, it can recognize faces and call out the name with a huge amount of charm and personality.
When it comes to power, it has a same docking station similar to that of Cozmo. However, the Anki Vector it has its own brain which will automatically head there when it is running low on power unlike the Cozmo.
First impressions of Anki Vector
Vector is a big brother and natural evolution of the Cozmo robot with much personality, and a lot more potential like the voice and face recognition.
It further behaves like a digital assistant with its own feelings and wheels. To people who bought a Cozmo last year may find the investment a little too much.
Anki Vector is very much similar last year’s Cozmo. It has a dark color scheme closer to Cozmo Collector’s Edition and also it’s wider in places too. But you’d have to put them side-by-side to notice the differences.
The both Cozmo and Vectors robots are small and cute little bulldozers which react with animated OLED eyes, but from inside they’re completely different.
Cozmo relies heavily on your phone as the handset does most of the work where it connects over Bluetooth that helps the robot what to do, and also, interacts with special blocks that come in the box. On the other hand, Vector is more powerful and autonomous. Cozmo is made up of 100MHz Cortex M4 CPU whereas; Vector is made up of Quad-core Snapdragon chipset which is quite similar to one you might see in an entry-level phone.
The Vector needs an internet connection to do just about anything. It has voice recognition to respond to the voice and commands.
But, unlike a smart speaker, it will turn and lift its little OLED face up and use its camera to scan the facial features so as to recognize the people in the future.
Anki Vector: Initial Verdict
Anki Vector is one of the most exciting gadgets customized till the day. It is fully stuffed with sensors with smart home integration and the future ability to become a security alarm and tech even though it has a miniature frame, while his AI seems very promising.
Moreover, Anki is pitching it as a family device which in the near future, should be used in each of the homes like Google Assistant and Alexa to automate things like lights and temperature in the home.
Vector seems to have a clear target audience like his little brother Cozmo, who already caters for children with a focus on games, and similarly with the Amazon Echo and the rest of the smart cylinders who offer a cost-effective option for those who want a practical smart assistant.
Vector somehow sits between the two, and still hasn’t yet been successful in convincing people he’s a better alternative than either, especially at the £250 price (£200 if you preorder). But still, his charming personality will convince people with so much potential via Cloud connectivity, where he could be an entirely different machine in 12 months time.

The wait now is over. The highly anticipated movie “2.0”, sequel to Robot, is set to release in November, 2018. The teaser to the movie has been released lately. On serious note, the teaser seems so satisfying that November seems very far away to watch the movie.
In the trailer, you will see the return of Rajinikanth as “Chitti: The Robot”, who has been commissioned by its creator Vaseegaran (also played by Rajinikanth) to stop the world from being destroyed by the mighty force of Dr. Richard (Akshay Kumar) also known as “Crowman”. The teaser doesn’t reveal much about the story plot, but you can see mobiles flying around forming the shapes of crow, you can see some badass fight scene between Chitti and the evil forces.
The trailer showcases some jaw dropping VFX. Akshay Kumar is almost unrecognizable with the makeover and is likely to hit the theater hard with his awesome performance as Crowman. The Background music to the teaser is given by AR Rahman, the Oscar winner. The 3D version of the teaser too will be released in theaters just to have a first hand feel of the movie’s jaw dropping VFX.
In the first half of the trailer, we see the cellphones flying in the sky, leaving everyone in confusion. This is when Dr. Vaseegaran suggests that its finally the time when Chitti can be of some use against the threat in the city. The next half of the trailer reveals Akshay Kumar in all villain style destroying city, the visuals of Akshay Kumar has been created as a gigantic bird which is controlled by Crow Man aka Dr. Richard. Although Akshay is there only for few seconds in the minute-long teaser, he is successful in leaving the lasting impact on the viewer’s mind. After the hard work of 2 years from over 3000 technicians all around the world, the movie is finally complete.
Producer for the movie, S. Shankar, said the “2.0” is nowhere an extension of Robot. He said that it is completely “a new format, a unique premise with a completely new message”. He termed the movie as “socio-fantasy, sci-fi actioner” of international quality.
If it’s a Rajinikanth movie, there is sure to be a festival like celebration. The movie will definitely extend the boundaries of the technological advancement in Indian cinema. Having seen the teaser, we can now without a doubt say that the movie is going to be somewhat Marvel like movie. Having spent a whopping Rs. 500 crores in making, it is definitely not a medium grade film, but we can say that its going to be huge blockbuster movie. I am looking forward to watch this movie the very first moment it is released, what about you guys?

A pair of veteran builders, Trey Roski and Greg Munson was given the legal go-ahead to host an event eventually by which a few months later in August 1999, the first official BattleBots competition was held in Long Beach, CA.
This event had three weight classes: Kilobots which ranged 25-55 lbs for wheeled and 25-83 lbs for legged, Megabots ranged 56-109 lbs for wheeled and 84-164 lbs for legged), and Gigabots ranged 110-200 lbs wheeled and 165-300 lbs for legged but in the tournament only a few legged bots were entered in the competition. The maximum allowed for the new season is 250.0 pounds ready to fight whereas “Flying bots (Flybot)” are limited to a maximum of 10.0 pounds each, ready to fight. Although the Flybot weight is kept for a limit, it may be a case-by-case basis, depending upon the construction and configuration of the Flybot. The official weight of the Flybot will be measured on the certified scales at the Tournament. Weight measured elsewhere is not applicable and if your bot is overweight, you will have very little time at the Tournament to correct it.
Safety covers used do not count towards the weight of your bot.
Cameras installed will not be included in the weight limit of your bot.
An installed telemetry package is also not counted towards the weight limit of your bot.
Additional Decoration Weight
The additional decoration done increases the robot weight over the 250 pound limit. The rule criteria further includes:
The decoration itself should not weigh more than 10 pounds and shouldn’t protect or serve as a weapons
Prior to match, the decoration can be removed with simple tools but within 5 minutes.
BattleBots officials can request the removal of the decoration at any time for any reason.
