Mosquito XET Turbine Helicopter Full Review

If you ever dreamt of solar-powered helicopters then the good news for you is that you can now buy your own personal solar-powered helicopter for $40,000! The new Mosquito XET Turbine is a powered version of XE series. The Mosquito XET is designed by Dwight Junkin at Composite FX which uses custom gearboxes to handle the 71kw (95HP) Solar turbine with 16 x 5 x 7 dimensions.

By purchasing your very own Mosquito XET is made out of a unibody fiberglass construction which minimizes the weight of XET and maximizing structural efficiency. It is fundamentally safer as a personal aircraft with speed reach of up to 100mph with custom-built 71kw (95HP) solar turbine.

  1. Airframe

The Mosquito XET airframe is similar to the XE airframe with a unibody construction made of high-quality fiberglass in a vinyl ester matrix. The body and structure are the same to which minimizes weight and maximizes the structural efficiency.

  1. The Engine

It uses a solar turbine with 71kw (95HP) and custom gearbox.

  1. Power Train

A centrifugal clutch on the engine crankshaft starts engine without the load of the rotor and power is transmitted from the clutch to the driven pulley through an HTD cog belt. HTD cog belt is one of the highest powers to weight ratio power transmission in different methods available.

  1. The Control Systems

The control system of Mosquito is unique. The main rotor control is achieved from the floor mounted joystick and in the mast; it is collected through a control mixer in the base then, through push tubes to the base of the swash plate. The swash plate is supported by a push tube located in the rotor shaft. The Control rods present on either side of the push tube transmit inputs through the rotor shaft to the control lever and then down to the blade pitch horns through pitch links.

  1. The Rotor System

The Mosquito XET has the main rotor as a semi-rigid configuration. The main rotor blades consist of an aluminum spar bonded to a wrapped aluminum sheet skin. The tail rotor is also has a semi-rigid configuration with aluminum skin wrapped around a tube and foam plugs at either end. To maintain tail rotor alignment, a 45 degree drag hinge is utilized.

For any heavy-duty American off-road camping trailers, a new Australian trailer comes along. The Bruder EXP-6 Camper is one of the best examples we’ve seen with dual-axle battering ram, all man-vs-nature business outside but comfortable and elegant from its inside, offering the ability to set up camp and live in a peaceful way.

The EXP-6 Camper is long stretching 22 ft in length and polygonal 1.2 in thickness. It is made up of a rugged, airtight galvanized framework built to hold 11 times its weight. At near about 6.6 ft wide, the body is designed in order to match the tow vehicle’s track, navigating narrow roads and trails with skill without any special tow mirrors.

EXP-6 has a set of high-density rubber absorption mounts which sits between body and framework, separating the composite shell from vibrations. The chassis is tightly sealed to be air-tight, which prevents water, mud, sand, and other desert conditions from staining the interior or rusting any components. The framework further includes an integrated Warn winch and recovery points which are tapered and contoured to prevent snagging and is ready to perform through extreme hot and cold.

The EXP-6 Camper has its own snorkel system that sits high above the dust trail, pulling in and filtering air i.e., it prevents any dusty air from slipping past the automotive seals. The owner can turn this system on and off as needed.

A pillar of EXP-6 Camper has the multi-link air suspension system providing 12 in (300 mm) of travel. The trailer’s ride height while in motion is adjustable using an accompanying smart phone app, setting it for low, aerodynamic road navigation or high-clearance off-road driving.

The cabin design has full-blown expedition vehicles like the EarthRoamer XV-LTS or Action Mobil Global XRS 7200. The cabin can fit a family of four with a combination of permanent queen bed up front and convertible sofa bed in the middle. Also, optional suspended bunk beds can be added and increase the size of the sofa bed for a total of up to six people. The sofa area further includes a table that can be mounted inside or outside and changed to various positions with LED HD television that can rotate while watching on the sofa, bed or outside.

The most interesting feature is its indoor/outdoor kitchen area which is located on the left side. The kitchen includes a stainless steel sink and diesel cook top, both of which can be accessed from inside or outside. There are availability indoor freezer and storage drawers and an additional counter top.

The other hardware includes diesel heat and hot water; 200 litre of water capacity spread across three tanks and the interior and exterior designed with LED lighting, a full electrical system with 200 Ah battery, 260 W roof-mounted solar, 2,000 W inverter, battery management system, and multiple USB, 240/110 V and 12 V outlets and plenty of storage cabinets, shelves and many more.

EXP-6 Camper Launch Date and Price

Bruder was launched the EXP-6 Camper in Australia on 2016 with pricing starting at AU$105,000. The EXP-6 prices in the US starts at $68,000 and estimates a $3,000 US shipping cost and plans to set up a more formal distribution network by early 2017.

The extra added equipments includes the added beds, a generator, additional battery and solar capacity, a remote-controlled air conditioning system, and a remote communications pack with satellite phone, UHF radio and emergency position indicating radio beacon (EPIRB). There is also the availability of water-filtration system that pulls and filters water from untreated natural sources, such as lakes and rivers.

Vespa is an Italian brand of scooter manufactured by Piaggio, the name meaning “Wasp” in Italian. The vespa has evolved from a single model motor scooter manufactured in 1946 to a full line of scooters and one of seven companies today owned by Piaggio.

Vespa scooters has been known for its painted, pressed steel unibody which combines a complete cowling for the engine, a flat floorboard, and a prominent front fairing into a structural unit. Having filed a patent for the vespa scooter design in April 1946, on the spring of 1946 appeared 13 examples and showed the aeronautical background of the company with their aerodynamic design.

On the launch in 1947, 2,500 Vespa were sold, over 10,000 in 1948, 20,000 in 1949 and over 60,000 in 1950.

Vespa came in two sizes, “largeframe” and “smallframe”. The smallframe scooters came in 50cc, 90cc, 100cc and 125cc versions, all derived from the 50cc model of 1963 and the largeframe came with 125cc, 150cc, 160cc, 180cc and 200cc versions using engines redesigned125cc engine from late1950s.

The Tesla Semi is an all-electric battery powered class 8 semi-trailer truck prototype which was unveiled on November 16, 2017. It has planned its production in 2019 by Tesla, Inc. He did not reveal the price for the Semi, but did cleared a fact the it would cost 20cents less per mile in operation than a diesel truck. In the prototype shown, the driver’s seat was located in the center of the cab. There were touchscreen displays on the either side of the steering wheel, and no instrument panels. The windshields are explosion-proof.

According to the Tesla, Semi will be equipped with enhanced autopilots as standard equipment that would provide semi-autonomous capability. Scooters are getting increasingly popular and Honda being the leader isn’t stopping coming out with new scooter. Having majority leadership in the 110 cc’s segment including the Active, Honda is now looking to boost its market share in a 125 cc segments. It already has the Active 125, but now it has launched a new product, the “Honda Grazia”.

The styling of the Grazia resembles the Dio a lot. In fact, this looks like a bust-up deal. But there are certain elements which make the Grazia stand out. Honda has hit the ball out of the park this time with the Grazia finally giving you a revolutionary feature.

The Honda Grazia gets all digital instrument cluster. The digital instrument cluster apart from the tachometer gets an adometer, a fuel level indicator, a sppedometer, a clock and a single trip meter. The mirrors offer a very good view of what’s behind unless you’re wearing a riding jacket.

The footboard area is reasonably spacious and there’s a hook to carry a bag. Under seat storage is 18 liters which is decent enough, but unfortunately a full face helmet will just not fit. One gripe that we have with the Grazia is the fact that it doesn’t get an external fuel filler lead however opening the seat is a cakewalk. The leather perforated seat is quite widely giving comfort for both rider and pillion. It has a small globe box on the left side under the handlebars, which has a provision for a charger and can easily put your smartphone. The overall build quality is very good just what you would expect from a Honda.

Engine and Performance of Honda Grazia:

The Grazia is powered by the same engine that does duty on the Active 125. This motor has decent power and torque on offer. But what really shines here is the low end performance. The motor is quite punchy when you’re riding in the city and as a decent mid-range too. It has the top speed of 90 KM/H. Being a Honda, it’s very refined and smooth and doesn’t have any vibrations at all. And it also sounds pretty good.

The acceleration on the scooter is very linear and builds up progressive. When compared to 110 CC scooter, immediately realize you are riding something more powerful and fun. The Grazia isn’t heavy and it’s fun to ride too. Thanks to the 12 inch front wheel. The base parent gets steel wheels, while the mid and top gets alloy wheels. However, this scooters softly setup which results in a kind of comfortable ride on uneven road. And this Honda scooter has got telescopic front forks. Ride quality is superb and it absorbs almost everything in its ride. It’s only at higher speeds and at bumpy roads that you feel the softness of the suspension.

In terms of handling, this might not be the best handling scooter. But due to the performance, it’s quite fun to ride. While the base two variants get drum brakes, a top wear and gets a front disc which results in very good stopping power.

Conclusion:

Honda being the leader in the scooter segment isn’t leaving any stone unturned to raise its market share. While the Active 125 doesn’t sell as much as the Access 125, Grazia is going change that. This scooter is very promising offers a lot of buyers and it’s very attractively priced.
