Specs and Features of HP Zbook X2 Detachable Workstation

The HP Zbook X2 looks and feels undoubtedly powerful. It isn’t just a laptop or just a tablet, it is robust form of both of these combined. Some of the features and specs of the Zboob X2 are given below.

Design

You wouldn’t have seen any laptop like this. It looks powerful, its look alone is industrial grade. The back is plain gunmetal gray with reflective Z logo and vents all over in the octagonal design. It has a pull-out kiskstand which extends up to 165 degrees.

Along the front side, there is thick bezel surrounding the 14-inch, 4K matte display. The top of the bezel houses webcam and infrared camera for logging in. each side has 6 buttons each which can be programmed for various purpose. The keyboard attaches with magnets to the bottom of the tablet and has the same color scheme as the rest of the body. HP claims the machine to be MIL-STD 810G tested and it has no issues with shocks, drops and vibrations. All the ports are on the right side with headphone jack and a lock slot on the left side.

It is just like an All-in-one PC with everything behind the display meaning you get same level of performance with or without the bottom attached. With the given dimension and weight, the Zbook is larger than any other workstations. While the Surface book has additional battery capacity and GPU on its base, Zbook has everything on the top. While Surface feels much more like a tablet, Zbook is somewhat clunkier to feel as tablet.

Display

Zbook X2 comes with 14-inch 4K panel, one of the most vivid ones in the market. It’s a matte touch screen with a chemical coating which when paired with a stylus feels like writing on the paper. The display can show 1 billion different colors which pops up in some areas while being some disappointing in others. The Zbook has 16:9 aspect ratio and covers 178% of the sRGB color gamut. The matte display is very helpful while drawing, but for reviewing the drawing, a screen somewhat glossier is great.

Stylus and Shortcuts

The stylus offered with the Zbook X2 is similar to a real-life pen with comfortable weight to it. The stylus has 4,096 degrees of pressure sensitivity in both tip and eraser. The Zbook stylus has no need for charging like the ones with the Apple pencil.

The shortcut buttons are on the sides of the screen. It comes in handy while using without the keyboard. The shortcut buttons are programmable with the HP’s Create control panel which can adjust those buttons as well as the preference for the eraser and pen. With adobe photoshop and illustrator installed, the buttons get pre-populated with suggestions. You can adjust the tip and the eraser feel for the stylus, the tilt sensitivity, and the extra button on the pen. The button doesn’t need a lot of pressure to work. The stylus comes with a carrying case but most of you would wish it was magnetic, sticking to the side of screen when not in use.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The detachable keyboard is weak point for most of the 2-in-1s around. But the Zbook X2’s keyboard is comparable to a full-size laptop keyboard. The keys have 1.5mm of travel and have clicky feel to it. The keyboard has a battery of its own. It can be connected to the top half not just with the pogo pins, but also over the Bluetooth. You can still be using the system with keyboard after it is detached. It charges through the main system when docked or has a micro USB port to charge separately. The touchpad is spacious and responds quickly to the Windows 10 gestures.

Audio

The audio quality of the X2 is fairly forgivable. The speakers are on the top back of the tablet which means using it in the laptop mode will have the speaker fire away from you. The vocals are quite decent, but the bass is not up to the mark. All in all, if you like some Boom Boom music, you would better pair it with an external speaker. Using it in tablet mode with the kick-stand at its full opening will however sound loud by the reflection from the table.

Performance

The Zbook X2 is packed with top of the line specs. The most notable part is 32GB of RAM which is double the capacity of some of the tables and convertibles can offer. There are plenty of processor and storage option available as mentioned on the specification table above. With the Intel Core i7-8650U processor, 32Gb of RAM, and an NVIDIA Quadro M620 with 2GB of VRAM, everyday task is a piece of cake. On the Geekbench 4 overall performance, the Zbook scored 15,308 which is greater than the average workstation score. The Zbook’s PCIe SSD is faster than the average, faster than the Surface but slower than MacBook Pro.

The overall performance is better than the par scores, but when it comes to pure graphics, it is lost somewhere. While the Surface Book 2 has a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU, its performance outcasts the Zbook. The Surface 2 is meant for the entry-level VR and high-level gaming while Zbook X2 I meant for the designers and creatives focused mostly on the visuals.

Battery Life

If you plan on using your laptop while travelling, you will always need a charger while travelling. Through intensive web surfing, graphics test and videos, the battery lasted merely 4 hours and 9 minutes which is less than the average workstation. This might be because the DreamColor Screen uses the discrete GPU at all time. Turning off the DreamColor will give a boost to the battery life, but it is only fair enough.

Webcam

The front webcam and the rear camera are definitely a unique combo to the laptops of this kind. The front camera is 720p selfie camera while the rear one is a 3264×1836 shooter. The rear camera is for the ease of the artists to click pictures of the subject they would want to sketch. The cameras have mixed experiences with some lagging and some excelling features.

Heat

HP Zbook X2 Detachable Workstation

The environment gets a little toasty under heavy load. Using it in the laptop mode is fairly easier on the cooling side with the vents all over. But in the tablet mode, it can hit somewhat 97degree Fahrenheit which is few degrees above the comfortable threshold.

Accessories

The list of accessories is longer. Every version might not get the accessories similar, but it’s worth noting. The accessories include:

  • HP laser 3 button USB Mouse
  • HP HDMI to DVI Adapter
  • HDMI to VGA Adapter
  • HP USB 3.0 to Gigabit Adapter
  • HP USB-C to RJ45 Adapter
  • HP Business Top Load Case
  • HP USB-C to VGA Adapter
  • HP USB-C to HDMI Adapter
  • HP Comfort Grip Wireless Mouse
  • HP USB-C to DisplayPort
  • HP 65-watt External Power Supply with Power Cord
  • HP Mobile USB DVDRW NonLS
  • HP ZBook Thunderbolt 3 Dock Cable 1m
  • HP ZBook 150W Thunderbolt3 Dock

Zbook X2 is meant to be used with the Adobe’s Creative Suite, however, it is not included free. Though it can provide you a better deal on a one-year subscription for $479 which is 20% off the usual $49.99 monthly. The HP Zbook X2 detachable workstation is sold with a year warranty by default but you can bump it to three years for just $121.

Configuration

HP Zbook X2 Detachable Workstation

The HP has set up four configurations that it thinks are best for different creatives. There are configurations for Photographers ($2,699), digital artists ($2,429), video editors ($2,900) and professional digital artists and photographers ($3,279). All of these has the quad core Intel Core processor, except the digital artist configuration with 7th gen dual core CPU, and have various amounts of storage and RAM.

You can use the customization tool to build your own configuration. You can keep things you like and drop-off the rest. You have wide range of selection to make. Choose from whatever amount of RAM and Storage you want, keep the hardware you want and ditch the rest, it is up to you.

HP Zbook X2 Pricing

Looking at the specs and the configuration the HP is selling pre-configured, the price lands up above the $2,400 mark. Though you can customize the system as per your choice, the cheapest one would cost you $1,647.36 with Intel Core i5-8250U CPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB SATA SSD, a 4K non-DreamColor display, no webcam, no discrete GPU, no fingerprint reader, no stylus, FreeDOS 2.0 instead of Windows 10. It isn’t recommendable one but shows off that customization can be done. You can keep things you really want and ditch the rest. Though, sticking up with the pre-configured device would be ideal choice.

Wrapping Off

If you are someone with the professional-grade inking capability and want adobe integration, go no further than HP Zbook X2 detachable workstation. It might be heavier to your pocket starting at $2,429. You might as well have a look at the other alternative as the 15-inch Apple MscBook Pro (starting at $2,399) and 15-inch Surface Book 2 (starting at $2,499). All these 3 workstations complement each other in one way or they fill in the gaps left by others, leaving theirs behind.

At last, the decision lands up on you. Whichever device you opt for, none of them are cheap choices. Be wise and choose the right one for your pocket and your need. The HP Zbook X2 detachable workstation is a specialized tool for the digital creatives who require power, high resolution screen, fantastic assisting tool like stylus, and accessible shortcuts for their Adobe creative suites with little sacrifice in the battery life. If it suits you, have no second thought and just go for it. You can make the purchase for much more category of the Zbook X2 available from the HP Official Store. You can find the one for your taste.

AI News Anchor

World’s First AI News Anchor Developed in China

The world has never been disappointed by the innovation from the Chinese innovators. Every now and then, there is some sort of innovation and research that lands upon the viewers and tech enthusiasts all over the world. A majority of the part of the worlds electronics and electrical parts are manufactured and sold from China. There even exists a saying that there isn’t anything produced elsewhere in the world that the Chinese cannot replicate. Speaking of the world’s first AI News Anchor, it is developed and unveiled in China. The Chinese are very keen to display their newest technology to the world.

China’s state news agency Xinhua introduced the newest member to the addition to the newsreader panel. The first news that it read was regarding the personal information about who he was and how he intended to change the news viewing and reading experience.

Details on the World’s First AI News Anchor

Debuted on the last Thursday, at the occasion of the World Internet Conference in the country’s eastern Zhejiang Province, the AI anchor is claimed to be the first move towards the involvement of the technology in the newsreader as well. The AI News Anchor is modeled on the agency’s Zhang Zhao presenter. The new anchor learns from the live videos and is capable of working 24/7, 365 days of the year tirelessly.

The anchor wears a red tie and pin-striped suit to the presentation. The AI anchor performs some humanly move as well like nodding the head in emphasizing some important parts, it blinks its eyes frequently and raises its eyebrows slightly in the emphasis. You would not have known if it wasn’t for the news to have broadcasted its identity.

The AI Anchor is developed by Xinhua and the Chinese search engine, Sogou. The anchors were developed through machine learning to simulate the voice, facial expression and real-life like gestures.

It greets the Chinese media and introduces itself saying, “The development of the media industry calls for continuous innovation and deep integration with the international advanced technologies.” It holds true in many scenarios, we still are held by the human news readers while other forms of media have always adopted the latest technology.

Scope of AI

According to Xinhua, AI technology isn’t just limited to news reading, but it can also be customized and modeled according to the needs of other different clients in other industries as well. The implementation of AI reader in the news sector is the casting of the possibilities of the AI in many other sectors and plants a strong base in how it can be a boost on the countries development and economy.

If your concerns are about the growing AI industry and loss of job and unintended discrimination, research firm Gartner predicts that the industry will, in fact, create 2.3million jobs and eliminate 1.8 million by 2020. The industry is expected to generate more than $3.9 trillion within the timeframe of the next five to six years.

While the virtual anchor is the newest and the first of its kind, the use of AI hasn’t been the first time in the Chinese media. In 2015, China’s Dragon TV used Microsoft’s chatbot, Xiaolce, to deliver a weather report on its live breakfast show. The AI was very cute female voiced and delivered the report effortlessly according to the Xinhua.

What Else

Automated reporting has uplifted its standing in the world of media in recent past years. The Associated Press wire service is a major news organization that makes the news reading possible using many sophisticated computer algorithms to write the huge number of automated stories every year. Advanced software can scrape through the complex data and reports and make it into sentences that are pleasing and understandable to the humans.

AI is a vast field and has not yet been visited nicely. If we can make ourselves capable of making most out of the technology, the automation in the technology could lead to more discovery that the humans could have been limited at. The world’s first AI news anchor is a step towards the automation standards that the Chinese media has taken and soon the technology could be widespread in many other industries as well.

Futuristic iPhone Concepts

Futuristic iPhone Concepts | The New iPhone Concepts By Aatma Studio

No one can deny that once the trend for every movie was to have futuristic theme. We all have grown big watching the Terminator and the StarWars series. Transformers was every child’s dream. All these because we are always been futuristic. We love living in future and tend to dream of latest and the greatest technological development taking place every now and then.

Among the trendsetters, there is a big name of Apple Inc. This company has been revolutionizing the technology market ever since its existence. This company was the one to bring the touchscreen mobile devices to the market which looked a gem from the future, iPads has been the most selling and most popular tablet device ever and their laptop range has been out of the world. And another thing they are very keen and enthusiastic at doing is making world curious with their thoughts and innovation.

New iPhone Concept

The market has always been flooded with the rumors of future iPhones before they have even launched or revealed to the general public. Among them, the most satisfying and futuristic looking iPhone concept has landed on the internet getting quick popularity among the tech lovers. The market has always been interested in what Apple has to offer next as they are supposed to be the trendsetter and everything the set forward in the market is quickly adapted by many manufacturers.

Below are the features that were included in Futuristic iPhone Concepts:

Holographic Display

The video shows the all new bezel-less full screen display. There are no bezels, nor any bit of the notch and not even slightest of the chin on the display. The device is all display with little holes for the sensors up top, which seriously look amazing. There are obviously no buttons as they have already been replaced by the gestures. The display is stunning and looks to break all the stereotypes in the market.

Functionality

The sides of the phones too are shown to be touch sensitive for the volume button as sliding finger along the side controls the volume of the device. The other side is supposed to be some kind of magnetic charging supported which doesn’t require the device to be positioned correctly to charge without wire. You can roam around with the device while still getting the benefit of charging.

In-display Fingerprint Sensor

The world is adapting towards removing the hassle of having anything that is button and consumes space. For the sake of making the device thing and screen larger, the other form of security measure like optical fingerprint scanner of iris scanned or facial scanner is taken into account. Here, an in-display fingerprint is shown which might be similar to the one we have witnessed currently of it can be some new technology that Apple might present to the world.

Motorized Parts

Some motorized parts can be witnessed which helps the phone to lift off the base and click a picture for you. Only taking picture might not be the purpose of that motorized part but what else can it be used for is still to be seen. It seems to be some futuristic concept to aid for the handling of the phone or something similar to that.

Projector Mode and Laser Keyboard

There is a projector mode that projects activity from the screen through what seems to be like LED Flash. The projector thing is all built into the smartphone with all other sensors like in-display fingerprint sensor, motorized parts and many other. It even projects keyboard on the flat surface and can even project things in 3D.

Dimension

Despite of having so many sensors and motorized parts, the device is crazy thin and light. The device houses everything that a tech enthusiast might dream of, yet keeping the device thin and light. It looks like a magic trick to hide everything underneath that thin piece of technology.

The screen too is shown to expand upon the pinch gesture. Everything shown before might have been difficult to achieve, but an expanding screen, God knows how Apple might achieve.

Conclusion

Its very appealing to have something like this once in a while. Though the video is only a concept and might not even have been presented on paper, some of the technology has been in the market for quite a few times now with their own set of challenges. And to have something like this is a whole different level of challenge. Apple has always stepped forward with the innovation and if this is confirmed for development, we might be having one of theses devices very soon in the future.

But the question remains that do we really need all these in just a bit of smartphone. And don’t mention the price for development set aside how much it will cost to general buyers. All we can do now is expect for the better things to arrive in market and not be limited to videos like this.

Battery Life

There were many complaints regarding the battery life of the previous designs. For the new HP Spectre x360, HP has dramatically boosted its battery life from a little over five hours to over eight hours which may be because of the dimmer screen of the laptop in comparison to the last year’s model, as well as the lower-end specs.

OnePlus 6T

OnePlus 6T Full Review

For any brand or company, launching two flagship phones it is quite tough, and it may not work always. However, OnePlus has been launching two phones every year like a schedule since the launch of 3T in 2016, though it never committed that it would continue making the T series of devices as a regular thing. And, recently OnePlus came with the new OnePlus 6T again.

In a mobile, there’s very less new tech that needs and meaningful upgrade, and bringing a new device to market every six months can decrease the sale as customers tend to lose their interest in it.

The new upcoming OnePlus 6T feels like a genuine step up from the OnePlus 6, launched earlier this year with improved technology and also an improvement in the handset before the next generation.

The OnePlus 6T doesn’t have much eye-catching or must-have new features, but this can be taken as the hint for the on the way OnePlus 7.

OnePlus 6T: Release date and price

OnePlus 6T

The customers will be able to pre-order the OnePlus 6T very soon, and also the customers will be able to buy it from the OnePlus website from November 6. Moreover, for European countries, it has been confirmed that the OnePlus 6T will go on sale at 9 am UK time on Tuesday, November 6.

The OnePlus 6T will be made available in two color schemes i.e., Mirror Black and Midnight Black. The Mirror Black is glossy, while the Midnight Black model has a lower-key matte finish.

For the Mirror black, the price starts at $549 / £499 for the 6GB of RAM and 128GB and with 8GB of RAM, it will cost you $579 / £529.

Similarly, for Midnight Black the price starts at £529 / $579 8GB of RAM and 128GB and $629 / £579 for versions with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

With the up growing popularity of the brand, it can’t be guaranteed that paying a visit will enable you to buy the OnePlus 6T ahead of schedule because the supplies will be very limited.

OnePlus 6T: Carriers and retailers

In back days, OnePlus handsets were really difficult to buy but now OnePlus’ exclusivity arrangement with O2. With O2, Vodafone and EE will be also offering the OnePlus 6T and also, it will be available in Amazon UK, John Lewis, and Carphone Warehouse.

OnePlus 6T: Design and Features

OnePlus 6T

OnePlus has improved its design from the last couple of iterations of its flagship phone, and also, the previous released OnePlus 6 design felt like it had a lot of hard work involved as it didn’t skimp on some of the essentials like the older phones in the series.

The OnePlus 6T is quite similar to the OnePlus 6 with very few changes but still, the changes are worthwhile and well implemented. The body is made up of glass body on both the front and back side with choice of two colors: mirror black or midnight black to choose between.  And also it is expected that the brand will introduce different other colors with the time being like the red and white version of the previous generations of OnePlus devices.

The phone has dimensions of 157.5 x 74.8 x 8.2mm weighing 185gm. It’s not a large device so it is quite comfortable to hold, and it’s easy enough to grip and handle.
The rear part of the mobile seems clear, as the fingerprint scanner has moved below the display section. It now has just got the two-sensor camera and a small flash below it. Excluding the camera of the phone is empty, which ultimately gives a comfortable feel in the hand.

The right-hand edge of the phone has a power on button, which is one option that wakes up the device or else you can also double tap on the screen. And, one of the best features OnePlus series has is the slider that allows you to mute your phone with a quick flick. This is mainly found in Apple devices but not in many Android ones. This slider is very useful when we want to quickly mute our device.

Similarly, the left-hand edge has the volume rocker and the bottom of the phone has the USB-C port, surrounded by two speakers for stereo audio in its each side
One of the decisions of OnePlus that has upset the user is that it has no 3.5mm headphone jack. Instead, it includes a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter in the box to plug in your wired headphones or the alternative way is to use Bluetooth headphones as an alternative.

It’s is still not considered a good decision of the company even though it has been including the headphone jack on every device while rival companies have dropped it.

OnePlus 6T: Display and Specs

There is a lot of change in the display in the OnePlus 6T in comparison with the latest OnePlus 6 which lost most of its bezel and adopts a notch at the top of the display. The notch has been shrunk down in OnePlus 6T so it relatively takes a very little space so, there’s more screen at the top left and right of the device.

There’s a dual camera set up around the back, with16-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensors, and also optical image stabilization and a couple of new photography features i.e., the ‘Nightscape’ mode particularly designed to improve pictures taken in low light conditions, and Studio Lighting similar to the Portrait Mode on the Google Pixel 3 and iPhone XS. At the front is the 16-megapixel selfie camera which has electronic image stabilization.

The display measures about 6.41-inch with AMOLED screen, but since the body of the phone isn’t as large it doesn’t feel like a big-screen phone when holding it. It has1080 x 2340 screen resolution i.e.19:5:9 ratios, so it is considered to have a longer screen than on some other phones. With this resolution, it makes the picture quality is gorgeous and the AMOLED technology makes the colors pop.

The greatest upgrade is the unlocking system of the phone i.e., the fingerprint sensor which is now embedded at the front of the device. But you may have to face an issue as it won’t immediately register our fingerprint, and it is quite slow in comparison to Huawei Mate 20.

It also enables its Face Unlock at the same time, and when you’re using both technologies the response time is very near one feature allowing you to unlock your device quickly.
